چکیده

Our study was designed to evaluate antibacterial activities of ethanol extracts from Croton macrostachyus and Justicia schimperiana bark leaf against certain bacterial pathogens such as E. coli O157 H:7 ATCC 25922, Salmonella Typhi 13311, Staphylococcus aureus 25923 Streptococcus pyogenes 196151. Qualitative quantitative methods were followed screen the phytochemicals in plants estimate total phenolic content (TPC) terpenoids. Antibacterial activity evaluated by disc diffusion method determination Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC). The results investigation revealed that both found contain alkaloids, saponin, steroids, tannins Highest TPC (3.82±0.82 mg/g Tannic Acid Equivalent) highest Terpenoid (118.33±4.4 mg/g) observed extract C. macrostachyus. Bark displayed strongest gram-positive bacteria S. with an inhibition zone 16.17±0.67 mm. more resistant J. at concentration 100 mg/ml. potent plant part should be subjected for further phytochemical analysis bioactive investigations.
